New Delhi, March 11: Customers of Punjab National Bank (PNB) faced difficulties accessing internet banking services on Wednesday after the bank’s net banking portal reportedly went down due to a server issue. Many users reported that the service was unavailable when they tried to log in through the newly introduced domain https://ibanking.pnb.bank.in.
Several customers took to social media and online forums to report that the website was not loading, showing connection errors, or displaying server-related messages.
New Domain Migration Creates Access Issues
Punjab National Bank recently migrated its online banking services to the “.bank.in” domain, a move aligned with security measures being implemented across several Indian banks. The transition aims to enhance cybersecurity and reduce phishing risks for customers.
However, users attempting to access the new domain ibanking.pnb.bank.in said the portal was either extremely slow or completely inaccessible, suggesting possible server overload or technical maintenance during the migration.
Customers Unable to Log In
Many PNB customers reported that they were unable to log in to their accounts, check balances, or perform transactions through the internet banking portal. Some users encountered “Site Can’t Be Reached” or “Server Unavailable” messages while trying to open the website.
The disruption has affected customers who rely on internet banking for daily financial activities including fund transfers, bill payments, and account management.
Possible Technical Glitch or Server Load
While the bank has not yet issued an official statement regarding the outage, experts believe the issue could be linked to:
-
Server downtime during domain migration
-
Heavy traffic on the new portal
-
Temporary technical maintenance
Such disruptions are often resolved quickly once the bank’s IT teams stabilize the servers.
Alternative Banking Options for Customers
Until the net banking service is fully restored, customers can still access banking services through other channels such as:
-
PNB ONE mobile banking app
-
ATM services
-
Branch banking
Customers are also advised to access only official PNB websites and avoid clicking on unknown links during such outages.
Services Expected to Resume Soon
Technical teams are expected to resolve the issue shortly and restore normal access to the internet banking portal. Customers are advised to try accessing the website again after some time (8-12 Hours).
