Manchester United will be looking forward to qualify to their first major final in any competition under their coach Ole Solskjaer. Under him, the team has previously been knocked out of all four cup semi-finals.

Edin Dzeko, veteran player of Roma will be eyeing for a comeback against United. Back in April 2017, Roma featured in one of the greatest Champions League comebacks by defeating Barcelona 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico to secure a 4-4 aggregate draw and reach the semi-finals on away goals.

Team News

Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez will miss the game after dislocating his shoulder in the first leg. Daniel Furzato and Antonio Mirante will be competing for the position.

Defender Gianluca Mancini is now available after he was suspended in the previous games. Former Manchester United players Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will hope to be in the starting line-up again for this fixture.

We all have to wait for the press conference of Ole to get an update on how the squad will be shaping up for the second leg with Roma. Daniel James has not travelled with the Manchester United squad due to injury. It is also clear that Anthony Martial and Phil Jones are both unavailable.

Rest for Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes was in his best form in the first leg, but with such a big lead, United already with one foot in the final. This will be the perfect opportunity for Ole Gunner to provide the Portugal midfielder with a much needed rest.

“Roma was not my best game but on numbers everyone will say it’s the best I’ve done. Two goals and two assists: it’s the first time I’ve done that.” Fernandes said.
