In IPL 2021 auction, it was unfortunate for Hanuma Vihari as he did not get picked by any IPL franchise. It was the second year in a row that Hanuma Vihari failed to find a bidder in the IPL auction. Hanuma Vihari played IPL last time in 2019, when he played just two matches.\u00a0Vihari has played IPL for the Hyderabad and Delhi franchises in the past. Almost all Indian cricket team players geared up for IPL, including Pujara but Vihari was left.<\/p>\n

Why Hanuma Vihari is not in IPL?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The reason why Hanuma Vihari is not selected by any IPL team is because people have labelled him as test player likewise Pujara so he doesn’t get picked.<\/strong>\u00a0Vihari, like Pujara in the past, has been given the cold shoulder by franchises and not picked by them since he is considered a Test specialist.\u00a0Vihari had registered himself at a base price of Rs 1 crore and was one of the most expensive Indian players on offer in the auction. Vihari\u00a0has featured in 24 IPL matches and has scored a modest 284 runs.<\/p>\n

Hanuma\u00a0Vihari<\/strong>\u00a0came to limelight when he helped India draw the third Test against Australia in Sydney after a gritty show that saw him score unbeaten 23 off 161 balls in close to four hours on the fifth and final day. The IPL auction setback came just over a month after his masterclass in the Sydney Test against Australia.<\/p>\n
