Barcelona honored Lionel Messi for a special milestone. Last night, it was a special day for Lionel Messi. It was a day of recognition for Messi. He equalled the record of 767 appearances of club legend Xavi Hernández against Huesca and after playing against Real Sociedad , Messi set a new record and become the player with most number of appearances for Barcelona.

In order to facilitate Lionel Messi, before the starting of game against Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou, the Argentinian player was given a special tribute in honour of such a remarkable achievement as Lionel Messi become the player with most number of appearances for Barcelona.. He was presented with a shirt signed by all of his team-mates. It was a very special shirt. The shirt was one from the 2003/04 season in which Messi made his first team debut. His family including his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and his three kids Thiago, Ciro and Mateo also celebrated with him this achievement and posed for a picture where the club presented him with his shirt from 2003-04 in which Messi made his first team debut. His teammates also joined the celebration.

Talking about the match against Real Valladolid, Barcelona won the game 1-0. Ousmane Dembele took Barcelona to 1-0 Win against Real Valladolid with his last-minute goal. He netted a goal at the 90th minute of the match. With this win against Real Valladiod, Barcelona has move to number two position ahead of Real Madrid in La Liga 2020-21. Barcelona has now 65 points in the table. Atletico Madrid still leads the points table with 66 points.
It has been speculated that Lionel Messi will leave the club at the end of the season due to bad relations with the management of Barcelona but the new President of Barcelona Joan Laporta has said that they will try their level best to make Messi stay at the club. In the past also many incidents have occurred which predicted about the departure of Messi from Barcelona but in the end Lionel Messi remained loyal to his club. It is also assumed that he will reunite with his ex-teammate Neymar Jr.
