Skipper Kane Williamson (52*) and Ross Taylor (47*) led the Kiwis to victory with eight wickets in hand. Ravichandran Ashwin was the star bowler for India, dismissing Tom Latham for nine runs and Devon Conway for 19. This was the first six-day Test since 2005 and the first in England since 1975, as both teams made up for multiple days of bad weather in Southampton.
New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson won the Man of the match award for his brilliant displays with the ball in the World Test Championship Final.
It was the last match of BJ Watling, who announced that he would retire after the WTC Final.
