Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav has been a fans favourite for the longest time. He is adoringly referred as “SKY” by the cricket fans. But have you ever wondered Why Suryakumar Yadav is called SKY.

Suryakumar Yadav got the nickname SKY due to his name itself. SKY is just a simple abbreviation of his long name. They are just initials of his name. S stands for Surya, K stands for Kumar and Y stands for Yadav.

Suryakumar Yadav set out with a dream of playing for India and at the age of 30, that dream finally came true.

SKY made his debut for India in the 2nd T20I against England but didn’t get a chance to bat in the game as the hosts registered a comfortable 7-wicket win. He announced his arrival at the international stage with a six. In the fourth T20I against England, Suryakumar Yadav came to bat at no. 3 and at the very first ball of his international career, the stylish batsman played a pull shot against Jofra Archer to slam a six.
