Sergio Aguero missed a crucial penalty after he attempted to score a Panenka. Manchester City lost to Chelsea 1-2 in their home stadium Ethiad, Manchester. Therefore, Sergio Aguero issued a heartfelt apology on his social media account to the fans for his penalty miss against Chelsea which resulted in a loss.

Raheem Sterling score the first goal of the match and put Manchester City ahead towards the end of the first-half. Just before the first half was about to be end, City got another perfect chance to double their lead and secure the win.

Gabriel Jesus was awarded a penalty after he was fouled by Billy Gilmour.  Sergio Aguero stepped up to take the penalty, but things didn’t go according to the Argentine. He missed the penalty in embarrassing fashion after attempting a Panenka which was simply plucked out of the air by Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

Hakim Ziyech then scored to equalise and Marcos Alonso gave Chelsea the win in the dying moments of the match. Alonso scored a goal in the 92nd minute.

Manchester City would have been crowned as English Premier League 2020-21 champions if they had managed to defeat Chelsea at Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Now they will have to wait for another match.

After the match, Sergio Aguero took to his social media to apologise for his missed penalty which resulted in a defeat. He issued an apology on twitter and also posted it on his Instagram story.

“I would like to apologise to my teammates, staff and supporters for missing the penalty,”
