He has played the role of wicket-keeping gloves in 30 innings in IPL cricket and has dismissed 21 batsmen which includes 20 catches and a stumping against his name. Buttler, being a top order batsman, has an excellent record in IPL cricket. He has scored 1714 runs in his IPL career. He will definitely play a key role for the Rajasthan Royals both with the bat as well as behind the stumps this year. KL Rahul (Punjab Kings)
Rahul has kept in 50 innings in the IPL in which he has 37 dismissals against his name out of which 32 are catches and 5 are stumpings. Rahul is the captain of Punjab Kings and plays the role of the ‘multi tasker’ for his side. He plays a key role at the top order for his side and also keeps the stumps. Although it is not certain that this season he will keep the gloves or not, due to the presence of Nicholas Pooran who is a better keeper. With the West Indian not guaranteed a spot in the playing eleven, Rahul might do the role of wicketkeeper. Rahul was the winner of Orange Cap award in the 2020 edition of the IPL. He scored a massive 670 runs last year.
MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings)
If we are talking about wicketkeepers then this man’s name would be on top of the list. He is the best wicketkeeper in IPL history and not just in IPL even in world cricket no one has witnessed a player like him. Such is the greatness of the CSK skipper. He is definitely the best person to take catches with the gloves, and is capable of executing sensational runouts. It is his stumping skill that has caught the attention of the cricketing world. Dhoni is also one of the greatest batsmen in IPL cricket. He has finished a number of matches for Chennai single handedly. He has scored 4632 runs in the IPL which is a very good figure for finisher. Under his captaincy, Dhoni has also led the CSK to 3 IPL titles. Ishan Kishan (Mumbai Indians)
Although Ishan Kishan is not the first choice wicketkeeper for Mumbai Indians but he is a viable choice. The Jharkhand batsman’s place in the playing eleven is definitely guaranteed even after the presence of Suryakumar Yadav and the all-rounder trio Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard. He is considered as a wicketkeeper batsman and has kept the stumps for Mumbai in the past as well but he is a better fielder than De Kock and therefore will not take the gloves. He had his best-ever IPL season last year and finished as the fifth-highest run-getter in the tournament after scoring 516 runs in 14 matches and emerged as the highest run-scorer for MI in IPL 2020.
