The five lowest scores in the history of IPL by different teams. Indian Premier League (IPL) will be starting from April 9 with its first match to be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. IPL is popular for the powerful hitting that is on display during the T20 performance. The Indian Premier League is a T20 competition famous for big-hitting. It’s a tournament which is known for big scores and boundaries. However, there have also been some unexpected batting collapses in the competition over the years. It is tough to believe that there have been some really low scores in the IPL. You will be shocked to know that there have been 38 occasions in IPL when a team was not able to cross the mark of 100 runs.     In the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royals Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders posted an average 134 runs on the scoreboard . RCB had thought of chasing down the target as they had a star-studded batting line-up at their disposal. But RCB’s batting line-up fell like a disaster and they were bundled out for 49. RCB lost the game by 82 runs. Nathan Coulter-Nile gave an astonishing performance and picked up 4 wickets for KKR. None of the RCB batsmen managed a double-digit score. It is a little surprising that RCB held the record for the highest ever score in IPL along with the lowest ever score.

    In the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals, RCB posted a fighting total of 133 runs on the scoreboard with the help of its veteran batsman Rahul Dravid’s 66 run knock. Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for just 58 and recorded the lowest ever total in the league. The record was with them until 2017. It was quite surprising as Rajasthan Royals were the champions of the previous season. Anil Kumble, the captain of RCB bowled a memorable spell of 5 for 5 in 3.1 overs to bundle out Rajasthan Royals on 58. RCB won that match by 75 runs.

    In the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils, Delhi posted their lowest IPL total. Delhi captain Zaheer Khan won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mumbai while batting first posted a huge total of 212 runs on scoreboard with the help of its batting lineup. Chasing a giant total, Delhi lost early wickets and never looked in control of the chase and were bowled out for 66 after splendid bowling performances of Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma as they both picked up three wickets each.

    Along with third lowest score in IPL, Delhi Capitals also hold the record for the fourth-lowest total in IPL history. In the match between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils, batting first Delhi were bundled out for 67 runs only. Sandeep Sharma had one of his best days. He bowled four overs by giving just 20 runs and picked up four crucial wickets. Sandeep Sharma broke the backbone of Delhi team and the rest was taken care of by the other bowlers of Punjab. Later on, Punjab won the game by ten wickets.

    In the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, KKR posted their lowest total of 67 runs. Mumbai Indians with the help of amazing performances of its bowlers were able to restrict KKR to such a low score. Shaun Pollock picked up three wickets for MI and the rest were taken by Dwayne Bravo, R Raje and Dominic Thornely. When it came to the chase, Mumbai just took 5.3 overs to finish the game. Sanath Jayasuriya with his 48 runs off 17 balls gave his one of the best knocks.
