Gareth Southgate’s England squad can spark tournament into life. England have started their Nations League 2022 campaign nicely and have qualified to Round of 16 stage. Marcus Rashford is a very talented player and was supposed to have a vital role for England in Nations League 2022. But the striker failed to get a place in the squad of Gareth Southgate. His fans are confused as to Why Marcus Rashford is not playing for England.

In the beginning, Rashford failed to get a regular place in the playing XI of England. The reason behind his absence from England starting XI is his past performance and fierce competition.

Rashford ended the season as United’s second highest contributor for goals, and assists, but supporters were left wanting more. Inconsistent play and sloppiness in front of goal showed a player who was at times every bit as erratic as he can be brilliant. The real low point of Rashford’s season was the Europa League final, where his lack of form really came back to hurt United, along with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dependance on him.

Competition is stiff for forward roles with Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka all vying for supporting roles to Harry Kane.
