Shaw is considered as a deadly batsman, but he has not been given a chance in any series. He wasn’t included in any of the series that team India played prior to the Asia Cup. Shaw has performed amazingly in domestic cricket and IPL, but still the selectors are not giving him value.
Indian Team is all set to travel to Ireland to play two T20 International matches in Dublin. This would be India’s first visit to Ireland since 2018. Shaw is not being repeatedly considered for selection in the senior team becuase his fitness standards aren’t up to the mark. Shaw last played for Team India on the Sri Lanka tour. Before the commencement of IPL 2022, the non-Test Indian cricketers attended a fitness camp at the National Cricket Academy. In that camp, Shaw failed to achieve the desired fitness mark. The young batsman failed the yo-yo test as he scored less than 15 in the test. A player has to touch the 16.5 mark in order to pass the test.
